Couple and Family Therapy Courses:
The educational program currently offers courses in marital and family therapy or marital and family studies which can be attended for CEUs or can lead to Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degrees through the Graduate Theological Foundation(see the Hiebert Institute). Two courses are usually offered each semester. Fall and spring semester course announcements are mailed semiannually. Check the Events Calendar to find a listing of upcoming courses or contact the office to be added to the mailing list (309/786-4491).
Leadership Development Certificate:
In September of 2008, a Certificate in Leadership Development was launched that includes workshops, coaching and a spring 2009 Institute. The latest course bulletin (home page) contains further information on this 2008-09 program. Current plans are to offer another Certificate in Leadership Development for 2009-10.
Workshops: One-day continuing education workshops are frequently offered for local professionals. Check the Events Calendar to find a listing of upcoming workshops. All workshops are offered for CEUs (Continuing Education Units) Marriage and Family Counseling Service is an Approved Continuing Education Sponsor for LCSWs, LMHCs, LCPCs, and LMFTs.
Residency Program:
MFCS also offers two full-time twelve month residencies in couple and family therapy. Applicants must have at least a master's degree, or its equivalence, in marital and family therapy. The residency carries a stipend of $18,500 plus benefits. The residency begins on or around August 1 of each year.
The deadline for Resident/Intern applications is March 15 for the upcoming fall. The application can be downloaded (see Intern Application) and mailed.
